Today's song of the day is Somebody to Love by Queen, one of my favorite bands, released in 1976. I consider it one of Queen's most beautiful songs. Definitely something everyone should hear at least once.

Song of the Day: (Just Like) Starting Over - John Lennon (1980)
I'm thinking about turning this into a feature to take up spaces when I can't think of content to post - a song of the day. I'm very much into classic rock (the title of this blog is consequently a Beatles song), so thats likely where most of these will come from.
Today's song is also the #1 Hot 100 hit from this day in 1980 - just a few weeks after Lennon's untimely death. I actually just discovered this song today (shows how much of a Lennon fan I am D: ). Its actually his most successful American hit as a single artist, staying atop the charts for five weeks.
Go ahead and give it a listen, and tell me what you guys think:
What do you think about this feature? Should I keep it?

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone - I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I got a few of the things I wanted for Christmas - some new clothes, Battlefield 3 (there goes any hope of a social life at school this year, haha. I kid.), and of course, a delicious meal with the family.
Family is definitely my favorite part of Christmas. I feel like I've matured a lot recently, expecting less and less gifts and looking forward more and more towards seeing the family I don't get to see as often since going off to college.
I won't ramble on too much, as I have to get some sleep, but I suppose I should ask how everyone else's Christmas festivities went.

Purpose
The purpose of this blog will be to post my commentary on a variety of subjects: college life, politics, and the occasional culture and video games. I'm hoping to frequently update. What do you guys think, anything else you'd be interested in hearing about?
